NPPA revises prices of 154 formulation packs


New Delhi, 25 July: The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) revised the prices in respect of 154 formulation packs based on bulk drugs including of vitamin C, vitamin E, chlorpromazine, multivitamin, and monocomponent human insulin.
As per the notification by the NPPA dated July 19, other formulations packs whose prices were revised are based on bulk drugs like aspirin, cefotaxime, chlorpromazine, vitamine E (Tocopheryl), streptomycin with penicillin, norfloxacin, sulphadoxine, dexamethasone, metronidazole, prednisolone, and monocomponent human insulin.

Ceiling price of Aspirin+Rosuvastatin capsules (10’s strip) was fixed at Rs.60.34 with the MRP of Rs.65.47. Four packs of cefotaxime injection, four packs of chlorpromazine tablets, two packs of chlorpromazine+trihexyphenidyl tablets, chlorpromazine+trihexyphenidyl+trifluoperazine tablets, three packs of vitamin E (Tocopheryl) acetate capsules, two packs of streptomycin+procaine penicilline G+penicillin G sodium injection, norfloxacin-400mg, and 18 packs of vitamin C with combinations were among the 152 formulation packs.
"The manufacturer or marketing company not complying with the ceiling prices and conditions specified in notes herein above within 15 days from the date of above said notification, shall be liable to deposit overcharged amount along with the interest under the provisions of the DPCO, 1995 read with the EC Act, 1955," the notification by the price regulator said.
